And so this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
- John Lennon
It does feel a bit as if we should start the new year immediately after Christmas. Generally that is such a wind down week. However, this is a bit different this year because my best friend from high school is arriving on Wednesday for a visit...which not so coincidentally aligns with the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Citrus Bowl! Woo Hoo.
In the meantime, let me show you some of my scrapbook pages this month. This first one seems to be particularly appropriate since the family gift for Christmas is a trip to Europe in May. Fingers crossed that Covid gives the world a break! Everything for this page was from the kit Christmas Hug by Palvinka.
The next page is for song lyrics. In case any of you do not know, I'm all about NOEL this time of year (or anytime of year really). I did this for a song lyric challenge over at Oscraps and I used Happy Holidays Bundle by et designs.
I can't help but be a little nostalgic at this time of year. There are no tree farms near us in Florida so we have gone to artificial Here is what it used to look like on Lexington Drive. This page was made using Christmas Evening Megakit from Simplette. It worked perfectly for this photo!
I am between consulting contracts in December...and who knows how many more months. So I had a little more time for baking. I hadn't made these wreath cookies for years. Sydney argues that they aren't cookies because they have no flour. I noticed it didn't stop her from enjoying whatever they are. Everything was from the free Home for the Holidays collab at Oscraps. (Notice that cute little handprint on the counter...Syd made that at age 2. She is now 17 1/2.)

Last but not least...I got my artificial tree up early this year. (Reference above notes on being between consulting contracts so more time off and no Christmas tree farms near us.) However, I couldn't get myself motivated to decorate it. So it had only one ornament...sweet Little Bo with his mama and daddy. I thought it might be the only ornament on the tree this year, but with some help from Shaun I did get the tree decorated before Christmas. Wiping my brow because that was a close one. The poinsettias on the side are from the Home for the Holidays kit. Everything else is from the Glitzy Christmas kit from AFT Designs.
