It's the last day of the first month of 2023.  How in the world does the time go so fast?

Sydney is into the second semester of first year.  That's what they call themselves...first years.  I don't necessarily understand it.  At the end of this semester she will have enough credits to be a senior.  But because engineering is a five year program it really doesn't matter much about the credits.  I guess...I don't know.  Anyway, we FaceTime daily and what a blessing that is.

Shaun is actually a sophomore and should have his AA at the end of the semester.  (This I understand.)  He doesn't know what he wants to do with his life.  (This too I understand.)  One day at a time.

I have been busy scrapbooking.  And working on genealogy.  And sorting photos from the last 150 years.  So there is that.  Here are a few of my favorite layouts recently.

This first photo is Grandma Boicourt.  She is my 3rd great grandmother and I would guess the photo is from the very early 1900's.  My grandma Johnson wasn't sure who she was.  She thought either Grandma Boicourt or Grandma Comfort.  Because of the advancement in genealogy and DNA, I found the same photo on Ancestry.com in someone else's line.  I was also able to find some newspaper clippings.  The second page is an article about Grandma Boicourt's 102nd birthday party.  It sounds like it was quite a party.

The two Grandma Boicourt pages used  Family Stories Collection by Vicki Robinson Designs.  As always, more information about the layouts can be found at my Oscraps gallery.

This layout is a photo of Syd and me.  It was taken many years ago.  But I love that hug...and that joy!  I was so excited when I saw it that I just had to grab it and scrap it right away.  I used Carefully Curated: Wake Up with a Purpose by Rachel Jefferies.

Ok...February 1, 2023 is going to kick off my consistency!  Someday this might be meaningful to my kids.
