Well, it has taken me a full week to write "the rest of the story". We left Guangzhou on Wed. morning at 9 and we arrived at the Des Moines airport at 11:30 Wed. night. Which doesn't sound nearly as bad as it really was because it doesn't account for the 13 hour time difference. Let me tell you, it is a long way home!
But the family was all waiting at the airport to meet their newest grandson/nephew/cousin. Even Beka-boo stayed awake until midnight to meet Shaun.
Shaun climbed into his carseat at the airport for the 5 minute drive home. When we pulled into the garage, Shaun started clapping. I don't have any idea why he did that but it was a precious moment.
We got into bed at 2:15 and Shaun was awake at 5:15. Did I mention that both kids slept well on the flight to the US?
Thursday, cousins came out to play and Shaun and Sydney loved it. Then we went to their house for a cookout Thurs. evening. Shaun fell totally in love with Hannah. Papa comes in the morning to see the kids. Shaun thinks he is incredibly funny. Papa takes his teeth out and Shaun tries to figure out why he can't do the same. Friday afternoon we went to the park and played ball outside and ate a picnic.
By the weekend, we were back to our regular summer routine. We watched Sarah play two games on Sat. and watched Sarah play two on Sun. and Zeb play two on Sun. Saturday, Hannah and Tyler took Shaun to the park. Sunday, Shaun and Sydney played with cousins at the ballgames.
